Social Distancing in Pre-K!

Help me give my students individual workstations. I am requesting individual lap desks for my classroom. I am hoping that this will help provide a less crowded seating arrangement while still allowing for a safe social environment.

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are young learners full of wonder and creativity. They are always eager to explore and learn. They are caring, funny and enjoy coming to school.

All of the children in my classroom are ELLs and need educational materials that encourage hands on exploration and wonder.

We use a constructivist approach to teaching and learning, which emphasizes an arts-based, student-driven curriculum, discovery and exploration. Children are encouraged to explore and find motivation in the joy of learning utilizing multiple forms of expression. This results in long-term child-initiated studies in the areas of science, literacy, math, learning materials, identity and community.

My Project

My preschool students will use their lap desks to work and explore materials, they will also provide them with a space to eat their meals. We usually work and explore in small groups at large tables but due to social distancing guidelines that will no longer be an option.

Social distancing in preschool will be hard but not impossible.

Setting up our classroom by providing each child with their own space to work and explore will significantly help maintain safe distances. The goal as we return to school is to create a natural learning environment for our children that feels as normal and inviting as possible.
