My Students
Every morning my students walk in the door ready to start their day with a big hug and eager to tell my assistant and I all about what has happened since they left us last. Communication and learning through all developmental areas is very important in our classroom. We focus on learning our academic skills through arts infusion, movement, communication, and developmentally appropriate activities.
My kindergarten class is made up of 24 students who come from very diverse backgrounds and experiences.
Our school is a Title I school, and for most of my students, this year is their first school experience. They are ready and excited to learn!
My Project
This coming school year is one like no other! We are preparing for a combination of virtual learning and in classroom face-to-face learning. I would like to provide students a comfortable and effective way to work in our classroom while social distancing from others. The yoga mats will not only help students have a comfortable area to work, but also will define their own personal space. Additionally, students will have lap desks where they can write, use manipulatives, play with toys such as play-doh, and even have their lunches. These materials will be cleaned thoroughly each day and rolled up each day to make sure they are not being touch by other students when they are not there.
