This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My 6th grade students are amazing human beings. They show empathy and sympathy for their peers on a daily basis. The materials for this project will encourage them to self regulate their emotions and become mindful. The weighted items requested for this project will greatly benefit them due to their traumatic experience within their neighborhood. Students will use the resouces in our classroom calm corner section. The calm corner will have the resources that they need to self regulate their emotions on a dialy basis. The weighted blanket will allow them to calm down and release their stress.
