Social and Emotional Support Materials

Help me give my students adaptive materials such as pen scanner to read material. Also flexible seating and organizers which will support their social, emotional, and academic needs.

My Project

I will use these adaptive materials to ensure my special needs students are successful in both their general ed & special education classrooms. These materials will help me provide my students with an appropriate education which supports their unique individual IEP needs.

The following materials will create an inclusive environment which supports my diverse students' unique physical, social, emotional, and behavioral needs.

For example, the rocking chairs will allow my students with autism the ability to rock safely when they are over stimulated. The pen will allow my students the opportunity to read text which interests them and is similar to their general ed peers, however due to their learning disabilities are unable to read independently.

My class consists of students who not only have learning disabilities but also mental and physical disabilities, which requires specific adaptive materials. Unfortunately, these materials are not always provided by the school and a result, special ed students often thave to go without.
