This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are energetic, enthusiastic, and encouraging. They attend a Title 1 K-8 elementary school. As a result of COVID-19, my students have had limited and restricted social interactions during the past year and a half which has impacted the students' connections with each other. The requested SEL books will help students develop healthy relationships with each other and be a wonderful addition to my classroom library. Students will be able to read stories that they connect with and will enjoy.
The requested resources of SEL books can enrich a child's social and emotional development.
Along with social emotional lessons, these books will allow students to make connections and relate to the characters in the stories. These books have wonderful examples of characters that are able to overcome obstacles, that develop positive self images and that take responsibility for their actions to name a few.
