My Students

My students are hardworking, creative, diverse, and always full of wonderful questions! Coming from a Title I school, many of my students come to school with their basic needs barely met. Our school has over 60% of students who are on free or reduced lunch. Their low socioeconomic community does not stop them from hard work and coming to school ready to learn!

Many of my students do not get their basic needs met at home.

I would love for them to gain experiences that they may not receive at home.

My students are ready and eager to learn. They are excited about learning and love to be at school. I believe creating experiences for them keeps that love of learning ignited.

My Project

During this pandemic, my students are facing more emotional and social turmoil. Social and Emotional learning needs to be at the forefront of my teaching. I would love to teach social and emotional learning using wonderful picture books that my students can connect to. These books will be used to teach my students the skills they need.

My students need to be able to learn skills that will help them face the challenges that will arise in their everyday life.

I believe so strongly that books are the way to do this. Students can build their reading skills as well as their social and emotional learning skills. This donation will help my students in a much more impactful way than just teaching them these skills.
