My Project

This year my students and I have been engaging in lessons geared towards Social-Emotional Learning (SEL). Not only do students enjoy SEL, but our society has shown the importance of how SEL can give students the emotional tools that they need to be happy and healthy both in the classroom and society. Not only does SEL boost self-esteem but it also encourages students to be kind to themselves and others.

I would like to continue to provide character trait studies and strategies to support my students while encouraging a love for reading.

The best way to incorporate this is through the use of books and plush toys that we can add to our classroom library.

The other classroom staple that I am requesting will help students stay organized, which also boosts responsibility, motivation, and productivity. I'd like for my students to each have a pencil box that can fit all of their supplies. This will allow them to find them easily and give us more time in our day to learn. Our pencil boxes we currently have are starting to show signs of wear and tear and need replacing.
