My Project

Summer reading slump is a reality for many of our high school students, making the Fall's slow crawl back into the school year difficult. We want to SOARR this summer! We are planning an active, dynamic and irresistible summer reading opportunity that incorporates outdoor experiences with reading and discussing culturally relevant themes and historical awareness.

We are asking for help to get books that both reflect these important values, ones that the students want to read and some other items to pair with cultural experiences such as cooking ethnic foods with local chefs, hiking with trail experts, and exploring new places in our city's park system.
