This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The students here are curious, creative, and always excited to learn about different cultures and traditions. I love how open-minded and eager they are to try new things. This hands-on learning experience will allow them to do just that in a meaningful way.
Each resource will spark curiosity, build cultural understanding, and give students a joyful, memorable experience celebrating the rich diversity of the AAPI community.
I plan on creating a series of engaging activities that let students explore and appreciate AAPI cultures. The kite-making supplies will allow students to learn about the history and symbolism of kites in various Asian cultures while also designing and flying their own. The origami paper and chopsticks will allow them to practice cognitive skills while also learning about certain customs, games, and beauty of different cultures.
