My Students
Hello! I teach a group of fun and energetic 2nd graders from a diverse group of cultures and backgrounds. Their last "normal" year of school was their kinder year. For various reasons, including our current pandemic, many are below grade level. I am committed to giving my students every opportunity to be successful.
My students are very active and enjoy learning through engaging, hands on activities.
My students are always asking questions and eager to discover the answers. They also enjoy literature and listening to read-alouds.
Incorporating STEM read aloud books and hands-on activities will allow my students to utilize their growing, young minds to become creative thinkers! I cannot wait to see my students' faces as they create new inventions and learn to think outside of the box. I am so excited to watch them grow and learn! I can’t wait to see where they go and what they accomplish.
My Project
STEM is important because it incorporates multiple disciplines at the same time and promotes learning experiences that allow my students to explore, question, research, discover, and exercise innovative building skills.
STEM helps students build resilience and is a core piece to learning and educational development.
My students will learn through active exploration of blocks, tiles, legos, construction planks, engineering and architecture building kits. These activities will not only provide my students with engaging, hands on activities, it will provide differentiated instruction that will allow them to succeed on their own academic level.
With this donation, my students will read stories about people who have had positive impacts on the world we live in, inspire the next trailblazer or future leader, and provide materials for them to build projects over and over again. STEM education can be taught to students of all ability levels. Students of varying levels of ability can work together in teams to find solutions to problems. The end result being students who understand how to collaborate with others and thrive in a team-oriented environment.
These hands-on tools and books will inspire my students to become problem solvers and allow my students to use the highest levels of Blooms Taxonomy- evaluating and creating- all while developing social skills, collaborating, and having fun while learning. I cannot wait to see my students create new inventions and learn to think outside of the box. Our youth are the future, and they deserve the best learning tools we can provide.
I am so appreciative of the generosity of donors who continue to support education.
Thank you for supporting my second grade classroom!
