Help me give my students some engaging fiction and non-fiction books to keep their motivation and successes headed upward through summer break. Science book sets and some delightful chapter books to treasure for many years to come.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This year's group of students is and must continue to be resilient at every turn. With books at home they can practice identifying characters and identify the problem and solution. Each of my students will have notebooks to continue notetaking. They see the need to read! These students were mostly at home at the end of their KG year and again in 1st grade, they were back and forth between home, hybrid and in-person. Instability of the internet, and not knowing which caretakers might be with them on any given day.
Now that our students finally have some normalcy in their routines, there is no better time than now, but to give them as much summer support as possible.
With a good book they can search deeper with non fiction texts about specific topics. They can develop thinking maps that we practiced through the year to bolster comprehension.
