My Students

Winter is here and the school year is in full gear. The students are analyzing and discussing the information in the texts. At this time, they are concluding their nonfiction unit about "Frogs." My multicultural inclusion class is amazing because the students from different lands around the world such as Jamaica, Dominican Republic, Yemin, New York City, and Puerto Rico have demonstrated that accountable talk and close reading are intriguing and informative.

"Tell me and I forget, Teach me and I remember, Involve me and I learn.", stated by Benjamin Franklin.

That quote speaks to my mission of continuing to empower and enlighten my students to become interactive learners who strive to reach their potentials. I strongly believe good instruction, engaging activities, grade appropriate materials and an enriched learning environment can and will lead to academic success.

My Project

Infusing audio, arts and crafts, and role-playing into literacy lessons and activities can only develop and enhance my students' comprehension and learning. For instance, it would be great for my ELLs and low performing students to read along and listen to one of Peter Pan's stories while creating images and connecting the text to the illustrations. In addition, it is my motivation and passion to seek ways to promote continuous learning and strengthen students' vocabulary, comprehension, speaking, listening, and writing strategies and skills!

It is such a rewarding feeling and sight to witness my diverse student population enjoy learning about imagery, character traits, main idea, and theme with the use of various learning tools.

As I continue to incorporate visual aids and technology to address the students' multiple intelligences and achievement in literacy, I am seeking your help to bring this interactive experience to life. Help! Donate! Educate!
