Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach two groups of 6th grade Math and Social Studies students. Our school is located in a low-income/high-crime area. I see that my students are faced with several challenges, both inside and outside the classroom. However, I do all that I can to provide an environment that is consistent, fun and engaging so they can get the most out of their days in my room.
My students are creative, clever, and very unique.
They like to move and they love to receive lots of positive attention. Many of them are being raised in single-parent households, some from non English-speaking families. They all receive a free breakfast and lunch based on their socioeconomic status.

I am hoping to get essential hygiene items into the hands of my students so that they are able to come to school clean and healthy. Many of the things we take for granted, are often wanted by my students.
