Soaking Up School Supplies!

My students need school supplies to start the school year, especially glue sticks, markers, and whiteboard markers.

My Students

I have a classroom full of amazing and inspiring first graders. They are all unique individuals with shining personalities. They want to learn, and prove that to me every day.

With that being said, all of my first graders want to learn, and they will, but not necessarily on the same day or in the same way.

I teach at a Title I school with a high mobility rate. I want to level the playing field for my future doctors, teachers, scientists, business owners, and artists.

My Project

The start of the school year can be pretty daunting on some parents at our title I school. Many of the students do not bring supplies, or can only bring a limited amount. These supplies, would make sure that my new first grade class will not have to worry about spending their money on these things.

First graders practice being artists with pencils, markers, glue sticks and crayons.

Those supplies will be used endlessly when they are decorating their drawings, adding details to their math drawings, and filling in spaces around their paper.

They will also use their notebooks to glue in their poems so that they can continue to grow and flourish with their fluency. All of these supplies are going to lessen the weight on these families, and let them start the year off strong!
