My Students
My students are 3 to 5 years old. All of my students have qualified for and are receiving special education services. Their special education needs include speech/language services, pre-academics, behavior intervention, and social skills instruction. We do all of this through play.
Just like all preschoolers, my students learn by playing, getting messy, being noisy and having fun.
The skills we focus on in preschool are the foundation for students' success in the future. It's amazing to realize that the playing we do in preschool sets the stage for so much more in my students' lives.
My Project
Circle time is so much more than just a book or a song. This easel will help students to focus their attention on instructional materials and the adult who is facilitating the activity. It will also help the staff to keep materials prepared and close at hand to maximize student engagement and participation.
Circle time is where my students learn how be part of a group, how to focus their attention on instruction, follow instructions, interact with peers and so much more.
Add to all of that the literacy, social studies, science and math skills and you get a glimpse of the importance of this classroom activity.
