We have some students with limited verbal language and so we try to give them multiple ways to communicate and get their point across. We also having a growing community of non-english speaking students who need ways to communicate their needs. One of our students is musically gifted and wants to drum all day so having the electronic drum set with headphones will be one way to give him an outlet to burn off some energy, enjoy his love for drumming but also to show his classmates how to practice rhythms, patterns and turn taking.
We have a variety of microphones but no speaker to plug them into so students can practice singing and speaking as they do get excited when we play music.
Having the bluetooth speaker would help to make their voices and sounds louder as they try to talk or sing. We could also use the speaker to help us prepare them for assemblies during the school year so they learn how to use microphones and hear their voices loud.
The recordable buttons would be a way for us to record letter sounds and phrases for students to repeat throughout the day. We could also use the recordable buttons to have the students record sounds or phrases so they can hear it repeated. We have access to one visual communication book but we would like a second one for use as we have multiple students who are working on sharing and also need to be able to use the book at various times or in various spaces in the building so that they are able to talk to the adults supporting them and their classmates.
