My Students

Not all students learn the same way. Visual learners rely primarily on their sense of sight. Therefore, they benefit from a teacher who is constantly illustrating concepts on the board. Such visuals can determine their comprehension of the subject. Such visuals can assist all learners!

My students attend an urban, public school where resources are limited.

They are hard-working students who are determined to be successful. I'd like to ensure their success and be able to supply our classroom with the essentials for learning. They deserve it.

My Project

Basic blackboards have been used effectively in our classrooms for years. However, more recently teachers have tried to update blackboards to whiteboards to be more versatile. For example, we are able to use projectors and an unlimited amount of colors on them. Erasing is cleaner and easier, or at least it should be. The blackboard in our classroom was painted into a whiteboard and sadly it did not become more versatile but rather useless. The markers do not erase. They smear black all over. We have resorted to placing chart paper on top of it, but that defeats the purpose of the dry erase. We need our whiteboard back!

My students are visual learners, and the whiteboard helps them stay focused and comprehend the subject matter.

They are constantly looking for the visual reinforcements, and they rely on our whiteboard. Unfortunately our whiteboard isn't going to make it, so we are hoping to replace the painted blackboard with the real thing!
