My Students

I teach 25 second graders at a wonderful school in a great district. My students are hard workers who see the positive in all that is around them. They enjoy being challenged and contain a desire to push through any difficult task set in their way. We know mistakes make a great opportunity for learning.

Although there is a strong push on academics, we also know how to let loose with different school activities throughout the school year.

We have built relationships that are meaningful and strong.

My Project

We like to move it; move it!

Students love to stand, sit on the floor, and move around all while working.

I have already added wobble chairs to my classroom using points from Scholastic. The students LOVE them and cross their fingers in excitement while I draw names to see who will receive them for the day. This will give them more options and allow all students to have a option for the day.

Allowing the students a choice on how they wish to sit helps them take charge of how they learn new information. I have students that love to stand or lay on the floor while working. By providing these different options, they are now open to new ways for them to be comfortable.

Students can wobble, bounce, and wiggle all while learning, working, and reading in their their classroom.
