Our classroom library is constantly growing and changing to meet the reading trends of my fourth graders. Mrs. Huntsman's lending library is open to all! Graphic novels, picture books, nonfiction, novel and the list goes on and on. The books are available to students past, present and future! So many books, so little time!
My hope is that my fourth graders will fall in love with reading time and time again and the way to their hearts is through the latest and greatest books.
My fourth graders (and students from previous years and years to come) will be chomping at the bit to read all the books in our cozy classroom throughout the school year. I'll be ready to lend books from our library and engage in book chats about the stories they read. I never tire of watching my reading enthusiasts devour books and find joy in reading.
My vision is to surround my readers with an abundance of books, so they may read widely and freely as they choose to read the books they love! Powerful picture books like, Giant Rays of Hope, open my readers eyes and minds to explore the world and see how we're connected just as when manta rays are protected, the whole ocean ecosystem benefits.
Along with having books my fourth graders want to read, it's also great to have rewards available for my readers to celebrate reaching milestones in our learning community. My fourth graders love fidgets and stuffed animals from the reward cart. Not only does working toward a goal encourage my students to strive for excellence, but it also encourages them to read more. Thank you for helping make our classroom a rewarding place to be!
