We are an award winning school. We are diamonds in the rough. Our class is located in a unique area in the city of Detroit. Our students are bright and diverse. We are a multicultural class, and we celebrate diversity in everything we do. We are a Title One school. Over ninety percent of our student population receive free or reduced-price lunch. Despite their hardships, my students love school. They show up to class sometimes hungry, sometimes lacking supplies, but always eager to learn! They are extremely appreciative of what they do have and they show it by working hard everyday.
My Project
My wonderful students love to read and write. Unfortunately, most of their parents don't have the financial means to donate supplies for our upcoming fall and long Michigan winter season. We are excited about going back to school face to face but we want to be safe from Covid-19 and other germs. My students are achieving their goals but we need to stay healthy and stop the spread of germs this school year. Student attendance is directly associated to their achievement. If we can stop the spread of germs, our student attendance will improve. Our classroom is bright and colorful. Our goal is to make sure all students are able to show growth and pass our state's standardized test. We just need help making sure our messes are cleaned up, our noses are wiped and our hands stay clean. I know my students will appreciate any help you can give us!
