Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are unbelievably creative! Most have experienced significant trauma in their young lives, and this results in their getting behind at school. Our school gives them the opportunity to get back on track by taking credit recovery courses, alongside core and elective courses (like my art classes). Art class gives them opportunities in hands on learning that is often preferred by our students.
Our classroom currently needs a drying rack, table supply organizers and containers for their other supplies.
These items I selected would keep their treasured artwork safe from getting wrinkled or smeared, would keep most often used supplies conveniently within arms reach at each workspace, and keep other supplies organized a close by so they know where to access them.
