My Students
Our school houses Pre-K through fifth grade with a student population of about 800 students. Although our elementary school is one of the biggest in our district, we have a family feeling to it that visitors notice when they walk through the front doors. We have a total of six kindergarten classes. With a school this big, our population is extremely diverse. Our school is located along the coastline in a small, rural town. We have very low economic families in our community, but these children are always eager to learn and ready to over come obstacles. I want to help my students who are just beginning their school careers go even further and really push themselves. Your donations will make that dream possible for my classroom.
My Project
In elementary school, kids need a large, comfortable, and clean place to learn effectively during whole group instruction. A new carpet will enable my students to gather together and learn more effectively. In my classroom, my students are constantly talking to one another. It is so difficult to talk if they are sitting at their desks. That is why a large carpet space is essential!
A brand new carpet will create a welcoming environment that will allow my students to work with one another on a large and comfortable open space.
This will help me create a learning community, not just a classroom!
