My Students
Hello! I am a second grade teacher in a small, Title I school district located in beautiful, central Pennsylvania. My classroom consists of 20 students who are eager to learn. These students thrive on new knowledge and are curious about the world.
These students love to be active, engaged, little sponges absorbing all the information they can.
From the minute they walk in the door of my classroom, they are like my own kids. I hope I make an everlasting impression on the students in my class and even though the end of the year is bittersweet, I can't wait to see what the future holds for my students!
My Project
In my classroom, most of my daily instruction takes place in the front of my classroom in front of my smart board. I would love to have a nice clean, comfy place for my students to comfortably work. My whole group instruction in language arts, primarily takes place up front so students can engage and interact with one another and the smart board. We also meet at the carpet for math to get our lesson started. Students also enjoy working in this area throughout the day. It provides an opportunity for belly work and a more relaxing area in the classroom.
By instructing up front and students seated on a rug, their focus and participation is much more attentive.
This provides lots of opportunities for engagement. Students are able to turn and talk to friends throughout the lesson easily.
By donating to this project, my classroom instruction will run more smoothly and the learners for the next 10 years will be able to take advantage of this nice, cozy area in my classroom.
