Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach special education exceptional child services (severe and profound) at a low income high school in Providence, RI. My classroom is mainly for students with Autistic Spectrum Disorder. My students are learning life skills and getting ready to transition out of high school.

The requested materials will help my students earn fun and refreshing breaks, cool off in the heat, promote community engagement, and encourage a positive classroom culture.

Through learning to make snow cones, my students will learn how to follow recipes, wash dishes and measure. They will also get to earn fun breaks. In addition to this, we plan to invite other classrooms in for snow cone parties and we will offer snow cones at school events, fundraisers and parent nights.

Through this project my students will get hands-on learning and will also be having fun! Thank you for considering our classroom!
