Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Educating students in an inner-city school can be challenging yet rewarding. I teach and reward students at a low-income school where more than ninety percent (90%) of the students are on free lunch, need extra help in one or more academic subjects, and have low test scores. However, they continuously strive for proficiency daily.
The snow cone machine will be used to celebrate students achievement school wide and enhance community events.
This small treat serves as a reward and a reminder of their progress, reinforcing a sense of accomplishment. It’s a way to show them that their dedication does not go unnoticed, and that they deserve both recognition and rest. Moreover, it will enhance community events such as athletic competitions and dances. The goal of this project is simple: to create a fun, positive experience that helps students relax and recharge, while also boosting their enthusiasm for continued learning. By offering a moment of enjoyment, I hope to cultivate a mindset that associates academic achievement with both hard work and enjoyment.
