This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am a special education teacher who loves to make sure my kids are always prepared for their day. My students love to learn and always try their best to stay focused during the day. As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom.
Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.
They like to move, they love to read and love lots of positive attention. Many of them are being raised in single-parent households and receive a free lunch based on their socioeconomic status. These things may prevent them from getting ahead early in life and may not provide them with the life experiences many of us see as typical. From the minute they walk in the door of my classroom, I focus on their potential and strive to give them the best of me.
My Project
My adorable special education students are in need of some supplies. We are always using our dry erase markers and our supply is running low. Our markers help us in word study and math each and every day. We are in need of tape a staple remover and hole puncher for our writing sessions. We are able to staple our work or use a hole puncher to ring our work and keep it together.
We love stickers and soon will be celebrating the 100th day of school.
We would love to be able to earn a 100th day sticker to wear with pride that day. We will be 100 days smarter. Thank you for considering to help bring supplies to our classroom.
