This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a 9th-grade teacher, I am requesting an instant film camera, paper, and a printer to help capture and preserve meaningful moments throughout the school year. For many of our students, high school can feel overwhelming, and it’s easy for the small, joyful milestones to get lost in the shuffle. With an instant camera and printer, we can create a visual timeline of student growth, classroom celebrations, science projects, and community-building activities.

More importantly, these materials allow us to give students something tangible—something they can hold in their hands and take home with pride.

Whether it’s a photo of a lab presentation, a group project, or simply a snapshot from a spirit week event, these keepsakes remind students that their presence, effort, and experiences matter. In a world that’s increasingly digital and fast-paced, offering a physical memory reinforces connection, belonging, and school pride.
