This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Have you ever heard of the saying, "When you smile, the whole world smiles with you?" Well that is what we do, and we would love to update our yearbook camera so that we can capture all our moments that make people smile!

I have hard working students who are involved with community service projects, sports, student council, Student Wellness, etc.

and are perfect definition of leadership. Yet, they are fun, loving normal kids and no one would know that they come from a school where over 90% are on free and reduced lunch or that they lack supplies for special projects. You wouldn't know this because they do what they need to do to make things work. They are appreciative of what they have and do what they can to help others smile. My goal is to turn the tables and see the smiles on their faces for a change.

My Project

People say that a picture is worth 1,000 words. My students are full of words that are worth expressing. My students become photographers and journalists, which allows them to become involved in on-campus activities and are responsible for taking as many pictures as possible. They also conduct interviews about the activities they photograph. They learn responsibility, leadership, organization, and time management to name a few. They will put this camera to perfect use and I know that they will be creative with their photo projects.

Our yearbook has now transformed into the computer world, but our camera is not up for the challenge.

Our existing camera has a low resolution and has a small range of focus. With a new camera, my students will be able to capture all of the memorable moments from classrooms to sports, special events to educational projects. Help them produce the best yearbook their classmates have ever seen!
