My students need an iPad mini & a Fuijifilm Instax camera to be able to take our Art centers OUT of the classroom and get moving! We will use them to take photos & video!
The students I teach live in a low-income urban setting. I teach at 4 different elementary schools that are located in the heart of Massachusetts and I personally educates approximately 800 students a year for Art Education.
While a lot of work is being done within the city to improve the lives of our growing minds, our public schools are suffering from a lack of funding.
I want to do whatever I can to provide a quality education to these children so they can better themselves and grow as learners.
My Project
My students work in Art Centers for their weekly art class. Currently, my elementary students are working in 2- & 3-dimensional design areas and do not experience technology unless it's for math & literacy. My students do not use technology for art until they are in middle school or for many, high school! This program will change that! My students will use the iPad Mini & the Fuijifilm Instax camera to get out of the classroom and GET MOVING to take photos and videos. Not only will this get my students moving, but it will get them to use and experience technology for Visual Arts before they get to middle or high school.
