This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I'm requesting healthy snacks like applesauce, edamame, and low-fat chips to offer kids in the afternoons when they begin to lose stamina and their energy drops. The last few weeks of school can be difficult for students because they're dreaming of summer vacation and are less enthused about completing classwork. Many of my kids are also hitting growth spurts and likely need more calories to get through the day. Being able to offer treats to all promotes equity and protects the dignity of children who do not have a snack from home.
