This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students receive free breakfast and lunch every day at school. They look forward to coming to school knowing they are going to be fed. With lunchtime being so early in the day, they are still so hungry by the time afternoon comes.
This project will provide snacks to my students so that they can remain focused and energized throughout the afternoon.
Many students don't get enough to eat at lunch as it is a very quick lunch period. Having a snack in the afternoon will re-energize tired students and encourage concentration through the end of the school day. Many students will often ask if they can take breakfast/lunch items home. Having snacks on hand will allow me the opportunity to send students home with snacks if they are in need.
