Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The snacks I’m requesting will directly support my students during high-stakes testing periods like SBAC, AP exams, and iReady assessments. These tests require intense focus and stamina, and it's difficult for students to perform at their best when they’re hungry or distracted by a growling stomach. A simple snack can go a long way in helping them stay alert, energized, and ready to give their full effort.
My goal for this project is to create a supportive, low-stress testing environment where students feel cared for and set up for success.
By offering snacks, I want to remove one small—but important—barrier to their performance, especially for students who may not have access to food in the morning or throughout the school day.
What makes my students special is their resilience and heart. They show up, work hard, and persevere through challenges—academic or personal. Many of them come from underserved communities, and yet they continue to strive for excellence and make their families proud. I want them to know that I believe in them, and that even during testing season, someone is rooting for them with a snack and a smile.
