Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
At Tenderloin Community School, we’re building a community where every student feels supported, included, and ready to learn. For many of our students, this means meeting not just academic needs but basic needs as well.
Some of our students come to school without a snack or enough food for the day.
Whether it’s due to tight family budgets, early morning rushes, or housing instability, the result is the same: hunger that makes it hard to focus, participate, or feel their best.
This project will provide a range of snacks, Skinny Pop popcorn, Pringles snack cups, KIND mini bars, and Rice Krispies treats, so every student has access to a quick bite when they need it. These snacks will also be used to: Celebrate milestones and learning, reward leadership, attendance, and effort, and create joy and shared experiences in classrooms and assemblies
