This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are a Title I school with predominantly non English speakers and I am blessed to work with the most amazing students ever! I know that most educators would say their students are good but mine are the best! Mrs.Morrow's babies, as I lovingly call them, come from different countries within the Hispanic community. These students all have different learning levels with some even being enrolled in the Special Education program here, but the one thing they all have in common is the desire to learn. My amazing students light up whenever new material and expectations are thrown their way, and like champions, they excel! On top of their drive to learn, they are so loving. Throughout the day, it is not uncommon to hear one of them say, "I love you Mrs. Morrow.” Many similar statements have started a daily routine for us. As I make the heart shape with my fingers, I place it over my heart and pretend to give all of them my heart because they are so deserving. I don't have to pretend with them because they really do have my heart!

My Project

As a kindergartener, lunch and the end of the school day seem so far away so to have snacks readily available for my students would be amazing! As we maneuver through this global pandemic, bottled water is no longer being provided by my county and water fountains are not being used. So, it is important that I provide another option for my students to drink throughout the day.

My students really need snacks, water, cups, and a refrigerator to aid them throughout the day for their needs.

By having snacks, I can aid my students while waiting for lunch and to return home. Learning is very important in the elementary setting so these snacks and resources will allow it to continue on a full stomach!
