I teach a small, rural school's fifth through eighth grade Intensive Reading. I have approximately 70 students in total. Many students cannot bring snacks to school and may have an early or late lunch, so they are hungry during class. I love having a snack bin with snacks available to students who need them.
They are always so excited to come in, grab a snack, and get busy with their work.
One student arrived in my class yesterday and exclaimed, "I have been waiting all day to come to your class! A snack and a lesson, what could be better?" This proved exactly why I keep snacks for these students! We would appreciate the donation of applesauce, chips, crackers and more!
