Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are fun, loving, and have a strong eagerness to learn. Teaching in special education, my students have various abilities and goals. Some students are learning their ABCs while others are learning how to make inferences from reading a text. My students do not let their disabilities stop them from achieving their full academic potential.
Having access to food and earning prizes for their work are crucial to a functioning classroom.
When students are given snacks throughout the day their energy, focus, and learning stamina are increased. With your support, my students will have snacks at the right time to prevent hunger pangs and spend their brainpower on their academics.
When they are focused on their academics, they earn play money and cash that money in for prizes. Some opportunities to earn money include: completing classwork, having a growth mindset and showing acts of kindness. With your support, they can earn prizes such as stickers and toys. All prizes they earn will be theirs to keep.
Our school participates in an inclusion setting, where special education students are in the general education classroom for the majority of the day and receive services from a special education teacher (myself). This project will support my 1st-5th grade kiddos. We strive for our students to become the best learners they can be!
