Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Due to our new lunch schedule (early!), our class instituted snack time. It was to help students get through the long afternoon, and it has been working out just fine. However, snacks in the classroom have grown into something more.
Students throughout the school now know that my class has snacks to share with no questions asked.
Wasn't able to have breakfast? Grab a snack! Unable to finish your lunch? Grab a snack. Need time to calm your big feelings? Grab a snack.
My favorite part is when a student from another class asks for a snack. My students...my little learners...my generous 2nd graders are always happy to share and help a friend out. That is priceless and so are the snacks requested.
