My Students

My students learn best with hands-on experiments and a firsthand look at things. They have a great enthusiasm for learning! We are from a Title I-funded school, so many students receive free or reduced-price lunches and come from different backgrounds.

My students come to school with an eagerness to learn.

I want to grow my students' curiosity to learn by showing them that learning can be fun. Ms. Frizzle from the Magic School Bus series always said, "Take chances, make mistakes, get messy!" My class does this with hands-on learning and STEAM. My classroom is a fun and inviting place to learn. I have hands-on activities every day.

My goal is to introduce students to science in a fun way and inspire students to want to pursue a career in science. I also have a goal to inspire students to have a love of learning for years to come. I want to also teach my students how to show empathy and to be caring. We want to help our fellow students at our school and in our community who could be experiencing financial difficulties.

My Project

Not all students can bring snacks to school for different reasons. Some may not bring them because they can't afford to bring them, or simply at times, they have such a hectic morning they forget to pack one.

We are requesting snacks to keep up my students' energy throughout our school day.

Students who don't have a snack to fuel their bodies in the morning may feel fatigued and unable to concentrate on their tasks at hand.

Childhood is a critical time for growth and development, and healthy snacks provide important nutrients that learners need between meals. Students should not have to worry about being hungry while they are focusing on learning.

Research shows that kids get nearly one-quarter of their daily calories from snacks, making snacks almost like the fourth meal of the day.

Having healthy snacks such as Goldfish, Cheez-It, and pretzels available to students will promote healthy nutritional habits. These snacks may also make the difference in a focused child vs. one who is hungry and who is unable to concentrate and work. A school is a place kids spend most of their time. Help me provide them with snacks that will help power their brains and bodies for a great day of learning.
