Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In our school, we have many students who come from low-income families and sometime need snacks and food to get through their day. providing students with snacks is important as it plays a role in their physical and cognitive development. These students love to learn but sometimes they need an energy boost to help them get through the day. Healthy snacks not only help our students remain focused throughout the day but fill their little tummies and promote positive behaviors in the classroom.

Snacks can re-energize our students and help them focus on their learning.

Some students do not have time to eat breakfast in the morning and these snacks can help them throughout their school day. Some families also do not have the money available to buy snacks or lunch for their children. These items can benefit the students in this school. I have also added a microwave for warm snacks or popcorn for the kiddos. In addition, as one of the school social workers I will be having sessions with students and have added books and a social skills board game that can help build social skills in the school community.
