We have end-of-the-year testing coming up in April and May. I have noticed that while testing my students often become tired and then distracted. I have worked into our schedule a small daily break during our testing time which allows them to stretch and refocus. I would love to provide them with a snack during this time to give them some energy to continue to work on the test successfully. The mints will be given to the students during the beginning of the period to help "wake up" their brains. It has been proven that peppermint "wakes up" the brain and allows students to focus more on the test. My students often come to school without eating breakfast so these snacks will help them have a full belly on such an important day.
These snacks will help my students focus during their 2 rounds of end of year state testing.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
