My Project
I currently teach 5th-grade science at a small, Title I school. Many of my students come from low-income families. They receive free meals, but many times, still arrive at class hungry.
It is my goal to provide snacks that will ease that hunger and allow space for extra focus so that they can grow and learn as students. These snacks will also be used as incentives to encourage participation in class, as many students that I teach are reward-driven. By providing them with a tangible reward to work toward, I have seen not only more motivation in my students but a higher success rate in their learning as well.
