Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We all love snacks! Our students are no different!
Please help my students to earn snacks such as chips for good behavior, positive efforts and achievements!
Not all students can earn As all the time.
This can be unincentivizing for some students who are trying their best, but not seeing the numerical grades they wish.
I believe that hard work, effort and dedication to learning, even when not resulting in straight A's, should be celebrated and cultivated!
Materials Plan:
Students earn "Della Posta Dollars" for observed participation, effort, hard work, positive accountable talk in group work displayed in class. These "Della Posta Dollars" can then be "cashed in" for rewards that increase the occurance of positive behaviors. Since there are few things that motivate ALL students more than snacks, students LOVE to use "Della Posta Dollars" to "buy" a snack during class.
And, since they earned those "Della Posta Dollars" through hard work, I am more than happy to see their smiles, when they enjoy that snack!
