This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Nothing is harder than trying to learn something new while having hunger pains and the lack of materials in the classroom. At OMS, I work with students who have grown up in one of the most poverty-stricken communities. Most don't students wait 5 hours from breakfast to eat lunch. Students are asking for more food an hour later. We are also in need of pencils, erasers, markers, etc.
Whether the child is my student or not I do my best to provide them with what I have, but that takes a lot snacks and extra materials! I'm asking for snacks to give to students during class. The other materials I have asked for will be made accessible for all my students.
