Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My Kindergarten students are full of curiosity, love, and enthusiasm. They surprise me each and every day. I am very lucky to have such a great bunch of students. My Kindergarteners are always ready to try something new and because of that, I want to be a better teacher for them.

My students make me laugh everyday and they remind me of why I chose this profession.

My Project

My school offers free lunch for all students, and for some students school lunch is the only food they get in a day. At the beginning of the school year we had snacks donated to our classrooms. My students loved them and were eager for snack time. Unfortunately, our snack bin is getting closer to empty.

Having snacks in the classroom will help ensure that my students don't go hungry.

These snacks will help my students stay energized during the remainder of the school day, since our lunch is very early in the morning.

During rest time, some students grab a snack from their backpacks, but many do not. Snacks can be expensive and some parents cannot afford to send one to school for their child. I want to give students the opportunity to take a snack home to have after school.

Providing snacks makes the difference between students learning and being successful or not being successful. Such a simple request will make a huge impact on my students. They will be able to focus and keep their stamina up for the entire day.
