My students need snacks to meet their daily needs so they can focus and learn in small groups.

My Students

My students live in the city of Cleveland, Ohio. The come to school to eat breakfast and lunch. They are great kids who often have to move so school provides stability for them.

They love to learn but bring their supplies back and forth to school every day because they never know if it will be their last day.

My students are full of energy and life and could one day change the world but for now, they just need their basic needs met.

My Project

This year I will be a reading intervention specialist at a school on Cleveland's West Side. I will be working with students in grades K-3 who struggle with reading.

These snacks will meet the basic need of hunger so my students can focus and concentrate in small group.

Most of my students live at or below the poverty level and often come to class hungry.

Many students that are pulled from class to receive extra help lack confidence. I want my students to look forward to getting that help. The supplies I have requested will make this happen.
