Help me give my students healthy snacks, beef jerky, crackers, cookies, cheese puffs, fruit snacks, and veggie straws, to eat throughout the school day.
My students are constantly hungry, and many come to school without eating breakfast and we have gone through our first round of snacks from Donors Choose. Upon returning to school after COVID, we have seen students struggle to interact with one another in a positive way. I have also seen an increase in negative behavior amongst my students right before lunch or at the beginning of the school day. Once they get food in their stomachs, they are able to focus on the learning for the day and have a more positive outlook.
The replenishment of these snacks will help students focus on learning by getting food in their stomachs.
Since we also have students who need gluten-free items, I included a variety of snacks for them. My students should not have to worry about having food which causes them to get anxious and angry and then react badly with other students. They should be able to have a positive mindset by having snacks ready when they need them. Please
