Help me give my students snacks to help them through their school day. They are often hungry. Lunch time varies for every grade level. They tune in when they have snacks.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are strong and resilient children. They come from very humble households with few resources. My students come for social emotional learning, and need to be focused and motivated.
My students are often hungry throughout the day.
The feeling of hunger keeps them from staying focused on learning activities, and can impact their mood. Having snacks for them, brightens their day, and helps them jump start their energy. Having many choices, and sharing with each other creates a positive learning environment.
These students have heavy burdens they bring to school. Hunger is often one of them. Having a variety of snacks available helps to alleviate this.
