Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Many of our students come to school without eating breakfast and decline to eat the often low quality school lunches that we provide. Many of those same students enroll in on-campus community college classes that extend beyond the typical school day, some until 5:30PM.
This project will fund snacks for those kids.
These snacks will be used to help kids keep their energy up and their attention on their professor during the long community college lectures they have to endure. These are kids who are striving to get prepared for college, to strengthen their applications, and to maximize their learning. We don't want hunger to get in the way.
