This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a new teacher at HCS in New Haven. I quickly realized there was an urgent need to give our students some food and snacks to take home with them. They also needed a snack during the day, especially for the younger grades.

Being able to provide our students with food is one of the things that makes me extremely happy and eager to come to work.

I am hoping that with the pantry full my students will have a sense of relief that they will have food and snacks when they come to school and there will be enough to take home with them as well.

I am also working with local organizations to provide meals for our students as well!
