This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Hello and greetings from my elementary school; the most Pleasant Place on earth. Our students represent an A+ Title One school. 99% of our students receive Free/Reduced Lunch. We are a true community school where nearly all of our students walk to school. Due to the community in which our students reside, they face many challenges like poverty and unstable home lives which lead to truancy and absenteeism. As such, we work hard to provide our students with every opportunity to be successful in school and in the community. We strategically plan and implement programs to encourage student achievement and provide resources to parents.

My Project

These snacks will provide our students with the fuel they need to be successful on their high stakes state FSA test. A snack may not seem like much of a big deal, but is means the world to our children. Most of our students cherish the meals they receive at school because it is the only meals they will have. In the upcoming months, we will test multiple subjects over multiple days and would like to provide snacks for our students to encourage and celebrate them as they take these high stakes test (which determines grade promotion for third graders).
